Submissions are OPEN for The Mythos Minute Podcast. Most weeks, on Mythos Minute Monday, we release a new episode on major podcast services and social media, produced by Ten Wing Media and hosted by Jason Huls. On Thursdays we repost a behind the scenes recording of the episode.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
A literary punch in the nose. Quick and impactful.
GENRE:
Horror poetry, micro fiction and art. Get weird with it.
WORD LIMIT:
The shorter the better. Try to keep submissions around 100 words. We have to be able to record your work at a reasonable speaking pace and we only have one minute to work with. We also try to include a very brief introduction to each episode so anything more than 100 words might be pushing it.
ART SUBMISSIONS:
We would be happy to review your art and share it across our distribution channels if it is appropriate for our audience. Please no more than 5 pieces at a time.
SUBMISSION FORMAT:
For poem or fiction submissions, please only submit doc or docx files. No PDFs or Google docs. No links. For art submissions, please provide the highest possible resolution.
SIMULTANEOUS / MULTIPLE SUBMISSIONS:
Both are fine. You may submit up to 5 pieces at a time. If you need to withdraw your submission because it was accepted elsewhere and non-exclusive rights are no longer available, please do so asap by emailing contact@tenwingmedia.com.
REPRINTS:
We are fine with reprints. Please indicate publication history and confirm that you hold all rights.
ACCEPTANCE:
Accepted poetry and fiction submissions will be recorded and distributed through major podcasting services. Since episodes are one minute long, we will also distribute the episodes via social media reels and our YouTube channel. Please see our contact page for a list of our distribution channels.
Upon acceptance, you will grant Ten Wing Media the right to produce the work non-exclusively as part of the podcast and social media content, which may remain posted indefinitely. All or some of the work may also be used for Ten Wing Media promotional purposes. Ten Wing Media does not require exclusive rights to any submission. The original writer retains all copyright.
Please allow 2 months before querying.
REJECTIONS:
If your work is not accepted please do not resubmit the same piece. We do not offer feedback on rejected submissions.
AUDIO:
If you are interested in recording your own piece and have the means to provide a high quality recording, please indicate that in your submission.
PAY:
At this time we are not a paying market.
OFF LIMITS:
Nothing racist, transphobic, homophobic, anti-immigrant or explicit, graphic violence against women or children. Nothing discriminatory in any way. We’re trying to have fun here.
AI writing tools. AI will someday become self-aware and yes, that is probably the closest we’ll get to interacting with a cosmic horror entity, but don’t send us work from it. We want your weirdness, not the machine’s.
